Babes Support Babes

Well fam, today is International Women’s Day. So keep reading if you’d like. But you should know that you are going to feel super empowered after…and if you’re a guy, you will probably want to hug and thank every woman you know.
Haha jk, I’m no inspirational writer. Had ya goin’ for a second there though, didn’t I? 😂

If you haven’t caught on. This isn’t my normal post. But if anything is worth sharing, it’s this.

Let’s start here.

I think it’s safe to say that this is a quote we are all familiar with. We see it everywhere, especially on days like today. I LOVE this quote. But want to know what it’s missing? “MAY WE SUPPORT THEM.”

There. I said it. And here is why…

I say that in big bold letters because that is something, as women, that has to be more prevalent. Jealousy is a natural reaction, but how about we don’t be jealous or hateful to these other women who are KILLING it doing their thing. Instead, we lift them up!?

Don’t tear others down (even behind their backs) because they are chasing their dreams by traveling, taking a new job, going back to school, moving across the country, quitting school, leaving a toxic relationship, posting something outside of their comfort zone, getting married, having children, sharing their journey with Christ or whatever else it may be. You don’t have to agree with it, but try to see it from their POV and understand that everyone has a different way of doing things. To each their own!

We don’t have time to hate on others or constantly play the comparison game! We live in a scary world. A world full of hate and rage and straight up unkind people. Let’s not add to that. So, the next time you see a girl you know (or even don’t know) doing something that is outside of their comfort zone, (or outside of yours) instead of thinking “wow that is weird, crazy, odd, lame, etc.”, reach out and tell her that she is brave and you respect her and you hope she succeeds like the boss babe she is. Easy. As. That. I can honestly say it will make someone’s day. It’s so easy to take the negative route, but let’s strive to be better than that!

Bottom line. Build each other UP. It will make you feel good as not only a woman but a human in general (take notes, guys).

Moving on to this “bad” word. Feminist. DUN DUN DUNNNN…

Guess what? I’m a feminist. Yep. And I’d go as far as saying the majority of women are feminists. And why would you NOT be?

Feminism gets a bad rap because people don’t take the time to actually learn what it is/what it means (which is lazy, btw). Above, you can read the definition. It is exactly that simple. We don’t hate men, we don’t want to rule over men with an iron fist, (just an iron throne #khaleesi 🐉) we don’t have any secret lairs where we are planning to make all men our slaves for the rest of time and we DON’T think we are better than men.

In fact, I happen to love men. They are strong, they kill rodents and insects, they know how to fix cars and houses and everything in between. Personally, I was raised by the best man on this earth, I have met amazing and supportive men along the way, I have great guy friends AND I work in an office with ALL dudes (literally 13 guys and 2 girls in our office). These are the men who lift us up, who make us want to be strong, who tell us not to take shit from anyone and are there to dust us off and put us back on our feet if we fall.

Bottom line. We want equality. We want equal pay for equal work. We want the same opportunities. We don’t want to be discounted because we are women. That being said, tell me no all day if I am not qualified for a role or I literally cannot do something because I lack the skills. However, do NOT tell me no without giving me a chance because you think I can’t do something based on my gender. That is what we are fighting against. If you have strong women in your life, you already know this, but, keep reading.
Women are strong as hell. Women are resilient. Women are smart. Women are confident. Women are badasses.
We don’t deserve these things we ask for just because we are women.
We deserve these things because we are freaking human beings.

So, to wrap this up, (I imagine no one has read this far tbh)…

To all the strong women out there who have lifted me up, pushed me, encouraged me and asked more of me, thank you. I am who I am because of you. To all of the amazing men out there who have supported women, like me, to be strong, confident, unwavering and courageous, thank you.

Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them. And may we support them.

Special thank you to my Mom and Grandmother. I was raised to be strong,  fight back, don’t back down and never take no for an answer. I like to think both of these women read the quote above and made it their life mission.

How I Grew The Heck Up in 2017

Standard blog opener right now: “WOW I cannot believe it is already 2018 and 2017 is over! My how time flies! Also, are you guys freezing cold? Because, same.” << Wish I could act like I am not totally one of those people haha.

Anyway, Happy New Year! Hope you are all doing great at your 2018 goals. Me on the other hand, I tried to go to the gym last night but it was too crowded. I’ll try again in 2019. Lol…jk….I hope.

I wanted to share this post all about what I learned in 2017. It was a big year for me. I grew the frick up and I’m not even exaggerating! And boy, did I have a blast doing it. This is a long post, so stick with me. I am sharing 12 high-level things I learned last year and then I want to share some things that made my 2017 amazing! *These kind of go hand in hand but whatever*. Also, some more pics by Courtney Garrett because love these and I thought you all might, too!

[full_width][/full_width][one_half][/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last][full_width][/full_width][one_half][/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last]

It’s okay to be alone. No, really, it is. Go ahead, live alone, move to a new city alone, eat out in public by yourself. Yeah, these things can be scary but who cares? You are the only one holding you back. I used to be terrified of being alone. I swore I’d never live alone or eat alone but here I am doing it all the time. I can say that eating alone is relaxing and no one is judging you. They are too busy with their own lives.

Talk to people. Everyone has a story. From coworkers to strangers. Have a conversation and get to know people. Make them feel valued and important. Ask them REAL questions and don’t compare it to yourself, just let them talk. It’s so nice learning about others without the expectation to share everything about yourself too. If they ask, you can share, of course. But be mindful of letting OTHER people talk. I noticed I have trouble doing this, and I am constantly working to catch myself now and improving every day.

Don’t be guarded. This was/is hard for me as well. I like to be the cool kid. The one who is tough and phased by nothing. Truth be told, that is such a front. I am only human and to have real relationships with people (literally anyone) I have to let my guard down. Do you have trouble with this??

Thank people more than necessary. I have always been one to say thank you more than I need to. I think my mother beat it into me (not literally, or wait, now that I think about it, maybe it was literally? haha jk) to say thank you to adults, friends, strangers, etc. In the south, it is definitely more common to hear thank you for little tasks as they happen, but don’t forget to tell people thank you when they really make an impact on your life. Write them a letter, send a text, email, carrier pigeon, whatever. You will feel better when you do this, promise.

Good friends are a great thing. There was a time in my life where I felt like I had NO friends. Where I had no one to talk to and it was so isolating, but in reality, I did that to myself. So in 2017, I made a point to spend time with my friends, cherish that time, laugh, cry, sit in silence, talk about nothing or travel the world. Wow, am I thankful for this. I love my friends so so so much and I know I have people in my life that would do anything for me! I hope they know I’d do the same.

Slow down. I read something once that said if you have road rage you are a selfish person. The reason people (typically) have road rage is that they think their time is more precious than everyone else’s. They think they need to get where they are going quicker or more urgently than everyone else driving. Does that not make SO much sense? I know we all get frustrated when we are running late and the traffic is horrible. But in reality, the reason we are driving crazy and fast and pissed off is that we did not prioritize our time correctly and we should have given more time. So, rather than get all sorts of mad about traffic and when I’m late places, I have tried to learn. My time is not any more precious than anyone else’s and my poor and psycho driving could only hurt myself and others, so I should probs slow the freak down.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. I am pretty good at this. I just always have been. Now, I know I CAN be dramatic in some cases but I am actually really laid back and try my best not to let little things (especially things I can’t control) take over my life, ruin my day or put me in a bad mood. This is always easier said than done, but I like to really stay level-headed and not freak out about dumb stuff.

Do the things you love to do. Seriously. Stop saying no. In 2017, if I wanted to do something, I did it. Cue me having the best year of my life. It didn’t matter if I was tired, nervous, had no one to go with, no money, no plans, whatever. If I wanted to do it and it made sense, I just did it. I am so done with saying “dang I wish I had done that” or “wow that looks so fun, I wish I had gone”. Who else is over saying no?

Make decisions. Whether it is about where you want to have dinner or what color shoes to wear with your outfit. Don’t be indecisive. You have an opinion. “I don’t care” is not an answer and the truth is, you usually DO care. People like those who can make a decision. Studies show that they are respected more. It always irks me when there is a question and people say “i don’t care” then I make a decision they don’t like. I’m like CMON NOW, 2 SECONDS AGO YOU DIDN’T CARE! That being said, “I don’t know” is an answer but there is a big difference between the two haha. I could say idk right now but get back to you later with a real answer.

Learn about yourself and those close to you. This can dramatically improve your relationship with yourself and others. I highly recommend studying Enneagrams. I read this book and I am a 7 through and through. Check out these few excerpts from the book about 7’s. If you know me, you are like WOW that is spot on. *Tell me if you have studied Enneagram’s before or if you’re going to read this book!*

“When things get too serious for too long I usually find a way to get people to lighten up, often by telling jokes and funny stories.”

“I think people worry more than they should.”

“Scratch the vibrant paint on the surface of a Seven and what you’ll find underneath is the need to avoid pain. I can’t say that strongly enough–Sevens don’t want to feel unpleasant emotions, particularly that swirl of fear and emptiness they register at their core. No one enjoys feeling frightened, sad, bored, angry, disappointed or frustrated, but for Sevens, emotions like these are intolerable.”  << Can’t even begin to explain the accuracy of this for me.

Stop letting others opinions define you. Everyone struggles with this. But at the end of the day, those negative thoughts aren’t what you need in your life! You don’t like my blog? You don’t like my jokes? You think I am fake or rude? You are entitled to your own opinion, but I am not going to change who I am because of your opinion. I have actually always been pretty good about this. I have never been much of a “people pleaser” I don’t do things strictly because I want to please someone. I do things because I want to do them or it is the RIGHT thing to do. If you know me at all, you know this to be true. I don’t much care what others think. Probably happier because of it. I still care about peoples opinion of me and don’t want someone to think I’m awful, but I know wrong from right, I know what is important to me and I will live my life the way I want to and not focus on how someone else thinks I should live.

Be nice. Seriously. Be nice to people. Not because you have to or you’re supposed to. Genuinely be NICE to them. You will start to notice how much happier you are. I have really worked on this. My resolution a few years ago was to be nicer (not exaggerating) I think I am doing a bit better? Haha tbd.

How I created my own happiness in 2017!

  • Started learning how to play the piano! I had talked about this and honestly thought I’d be over it by now but I am still learning almost every day. I love it. It’s so relaxing. But also so hard.
  • Bought a new camera lens and I really enjoy taking photos! Really wish I could afford a fancy camera and really start a little side gig. Maybe one day! For now, I love my camera and learning how to edit, use light, place the subject, etc. Fun and relaxing.
  • Traveled to Europe TWICE. This is no secret. Those trips changed my life. I am so thankful I was able to do that and I don’t plan on slowing down.
  • Started renting my house on Airbnb. This allows me to put my house on airbnb when I want to and when I can and I get to make some extra money here and there! Plus my house stays super clean haha
  • I learned how to cook! I would choose 1-2 new recipes a week for a while (kinda tapered off haha) and I wasn’t so bad! Plus I really enjoyed it. I would come home, listen to a podcast or music and cook dinner and lunch for the next day.
  • I joined a community group. This was super scary for me but it has been one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. I am closer to God and I have made a ton of great friends!
  • I stayed single for an entire year. I can’t tell you the last time I did this. I did so pretty intentionally because I finally realized that I am looking for someone who literally sweeps me off my feet. For so long I thought it didn’t exist, but it has to, right? Tell me it does or me being crazy psycho picky is going to come back to bite me haha.

As for 2018, I just started my new job. Today was my first day and it was awesome. I was nervous (of course) but I survived haha. I am stoked about 2018. I have made the right changes, decisions, and moves to ensure my happiness while being a better version of myself overall. Let’s do this, 2018.

How can you create your own happiness in 2018? What are your goals? How are the things you did in 2017 going to help your 2018 be even better?? Drop me some comments!

My Favorite Phone Case

For any and everyone who has a huge phone, you probably have a pop socket or something to help you hold your phone. For a while, I used the pop sockets, but the past month or so, I have been using the Loopy phone case and I am obsessed! I can hold my phone doing WHATEVER I am doing. Seriously. I was holding it in the same hand that was holding a toddler the other night and it was perfectly secure. And notice the pic of me holding my huge dog with my phone securely in my hand haha.

Anyway, a lot of people have seen my new case and asked about it so I wanted to share! Fortunately and unfortunately, I got the new iPhone X so my 6S plus case doesn’t fit anymore 🙁 but I am planning on buying one for this phone as well!

Do YOU need a Loopy phone case?

The answer is a resounding yes. If you are the type who has your hands full all the time and always dropping your phone or your hands are too small to effectively type with one hand, this is the best answer for you. I would NOT be sharing this with you guys if I was not a huge fan of this product and this brand. Also, I will say that even if you don’t have the plus size phone, this is so handy and you should check it out. I legit haven’t dropped my phone since I got this case. Plus, look how stinkin’ cute it is! Low key think I need it for my iPad too…tbd I’ll come back to you guys on that one.

Go to Loopycases.com and shop for your very own loopy case. They come in a ton of cute colors and the case is actually durable! Use the code ‘NYE’ for 15% off through the next few days! *They never have sales, so snag it now!*

[one_half][/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last][full_width][/full_width][one_half][/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last][full_width][/full_width][full_width][/full_width]

^^ strictly to show you that you can hold your phone and literally anything else securely with this case! haha

If you have a 6S plus, I want to give my case away! Please reach out and I will choose someone to give it to for free! You can leave a comment on the post, Facebook or Instagram! I’ll choose someone in a few days 🙂 Be sure to tell me WHY you want this case!

Thanks to Loopy Cases for sending me this case. I absolutely love it and I know you will too!

lululemon Holiday Pop-up Shop!

For all my Northwest Arkansas people, we finally have a REAL lululemon location in Rogers! But, be warned. It’s not here for a long time, but it sure is here for a good time. It is called a pop-up shop because it will only be open through the holidays to kind of test this market. If the sales are good and they feel like this location is profitable, hopefully, it’ll become permanent!

Let me clarify, though. This lululemon location is not anything less than another lululemon location, so don’t let the “pop-up shop” name scare you away. In fact, they have worked SO hard to create SUCH a beautiful store. They moved in the old Gordon’s Jewelry (I think that’s the name?) location which had like carpet and drapes on all the walls and blue carpet on the floor…V bad. So they had to put a lot of time, money, effort and work into this location to make it what it is now!

I was lucky enough to get a message from Mike, the manager who came from the LR store, and he asked if I would share some posts and work with them through the season to really share about the store. So here I am! With this, I also got some really awesome products.

You can see the before and after pics of the store as well as photos of me shopping and I added the products that I bought and others that I have already and tried on in the store!

I got the black Swiftly tech short sleeve shirt and apparently it is sweat wicking magic. I am super pumped to wear this soon! Also, I got the ‘heathered black’ Wunder Under Hi-Rise 7/8 pants. These are CRAZY comfy, the hi-rise is everything and I am obsessed with the gray color!

My absolute favorite pants in the whole world, though, are these Align Pants. I could legitimately live in these bad boys for the rest of my life. They are SO soft and worth every single penny and more. I have them in black (pictured below) but I am going to buy another color soon. Just have to decide which color I want. Any suggestions??

I always recommend going to a lululemon store to shop and try on several different options. And if anything doesn’t fit that you’re wanting to buy, they offer FREE alterations! Customer service game STRONG. If you have any questions or feedback, please leave some comments!

And if you are wanting to head to the Rogers store or give them a call, here are the contact details! 2203 S Promenade Blvd Space #8155, Rogers, AR 72758 // (479)-621-0305

Italian Tour: Florence Edition

I really can’t believe that I have not shared about Florence yet. *Shoutout to Anna Simpson for making me finish this!* Florence was NO DOUBT my favorite place we visited. Maybe because it was pretty Americanized? Not sure. But, there was a school nearby, a lot of people spoke English and everything was absolutely beautiful! If I could have, I would have stayed in this city for years. It was THAT great. Anyway, read along to see what we did, where we ate and the beautiful views we got to see.

We left from Venice Monday morning and arrived in Florence midday. We knew the Airbnb was about 1 mile away and we had planned on getting a taxi. Well, jokes on us. Apparently, taxi drivers go on strike all the time in Europe (Who knew? Not us!) and they weren’t driving that day. Okay, cool. So, we had to walk a mile with all our luggage on these cobblestone roads with just a slight idea of where we were going. Basically, DON’T count on taxis in these Italian countries because they decide when they want to work. But, Hannah and I had a good attitude and the walk really wasn’t that bad! This is another reason that people say to pack LIGHT when going to Europe.

We get to our CUTE Airbnb, hauled our luggage up the stairs and walked into the best smelling place ever haha (weird thing to say, but seriously, Hannah was obsessed with the smell of this little flat!). This was right in the heart of Florence. It was clean, a good size, two bathrooms, fast wifi, all the works. DEFINITELY, recommend staying here if you’re in Florence!

Now, I am just going to share some pics, then listed below are things to see, do, buy, eat, etc. written out in an organized way! We got soooo many recommendations for things in Florence, so this is a long post.

[one_half][/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last][full_width][/full_width][full_width][/full_width][full_width][/full_width][one_half]

[/one_half][one_half_last]

[/one_half_last][full_width][/full_width][full_width][/full_width][one_half][/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last][full_width][/full_width]

There are a lot of things going on below. My reco is to download offline maps (on google maps or download Maps.Me) and drop pins on the places you want to visit. Beware, offline maps will drain your battery so have a backup haha.

TO SEE:

  • Best views of the city
    • Excelsior Westin – walk in, go up the elevator all the way to the top. It’s insanely beautiful.
    • Michelangelo – the hike up there is no joke haha so you CAN take a taxi up, but we chose to walk. When we got up there, we snapped some pics, bought a cheap bottle of wine, popped it open and drank it while the sun went down.
    • Fiesoli – we didn’t make it here but the photos are amazing, so let me live vicariously through you. Everyone recommends taking the bus to this around cocktail hour.
  • Lookalike statues of David all over the city – you really can’t miss them
  • The famous Razorback!!!!! Lol okay maybe that isn’t the official name but Fayetteville has one and so does Florence, so we’re basically the same….right?
  • As many churches as possible. The architecture is insanely beautiful and worth going inside.
  • Ponte Vecchio – this would be a beautiful place to see early one morning when the city is still sleeping. 50125 Firenze FI, Italy

TO DO:

  • Uffizi Gallery – Piazzale degli Uffizi, 6, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
  • Duomo – climb the nearly 500 stairs to the top if you dare! Piazza del Duomo, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
  • Boboli Gardens – we just wandered around aimlessly here for a while taking cool pics and laughing at dumb things haha but a lot of people will get takeaway pizza or panini, grab a bottle of wine and picnic for a little bit.
  • Mercato Centrale – go here and buy high quality leather goods. We each got a beautiful leather jacket from Mossimo’s Leather (Borgo La Noce 13/R) where the people were SO nice. Then I got a messenger bag (for my laptop that I have carried every single day since Florence) and Hannah got a duffle from another store called A.D. Firenze. Make sure and try to bargain the price with them, they will almost always come down a little!
  • Explore Cascine Park on the banks of the Arno (west Florence). It’s a great escape from the city.
  • If we had had time, we really wanted to take a Vespa Tour of Tuscany and all the small surrounding areas.
  • Also if you have time, try to do a cooking class somewhere in the city. Everyone says they are amazing and worth every penny!
  • Make sure to go to aperitivos (Italian happy hours). They have them everywhere and you get free food when you buy a drink.
  • My best advice for Florence is just to walk all over the city, day and night, cover as much as you can and you won’t regret it. Get lost and happen upon beautiful churches and cool scenes.

BARS:

  • Kikuya Pub – English pub right by S. Croce with a really strong beer called the Dragoon. You have to try it! (Via de’ Benci, 43/r)
  • Lion’s Fountain – Irish pub and awesome bar for young people (Borgo degli Albizi 34/R)
  • Red Garter – another great bar by Santa Croce. They do beer pong tournaments on certain nights and karoake. Honestly felt like we were back in the states here (Via de’ Benci, 33)
  • Flo Night Club – this was closed when we were there in February because it’s outdoors, but if you’re there when it’s open, it’s apparently not to be missed!

TO EAT:

  • La Giostra – get ready to have the BEST meal of your life. The pear ravioli was recommended and while it sounds weird and gross, it’s a MUST. Make reservations, though. Which you can do online really easily.
  • Yellow Bar – we had pizza here our first day and it was really good! They also have an amazing piano player on Monday nights, I believe. Via del Proconsolo, 39r, Florence, 50122
  • Trattoria Za-Za’s – located in Piazza del Mercato Centrale (great location). If you’re into cooking, their cook book is apparently amazing! Piazza del Mercato Centrale, 26/r, Firenze
  • Gusta Pizza – near the Biboli gardens. And if you request the pizza in a specific shape (like a heart) they will make it happen!

TO BUY:

  • Leather – Florence is known for their high-quality hand made leather goods. Worth the splurge for sure.
  • Ceramics – there is a place that was recommended, but we didn’t have time, and it was right outside of Siena (you’d need a cab). Apparently, there were handmade beautiful ceramic pieces here for next to nothing. You should call in advance if you are planning on going. Ceramiche Bibi is the name of the company. The artist’s name is Sabina Pagliai. Located at: Strada della Tressa, 1  –  53100 Siena- Italy.
  • Shop for food in the open markets and try to speak italian with the vendors
  • Shop around San Lorenzo market – such a cool area

More reco from people that we didn’t get to experience but I want to keep it all in one place and share it with you!

  • Great ice cream places: vivoli and another place called perque no near the American Express office
  • *Trattoria Sostanza-Troia s.a.s. (I would try and make a dinner reservation here) “This place is amazing but only takes cash. Try the Chicken dish..loads of butter but it’s unbelievable…also try the egg dish with the carcioffi/artichoke…really really good…..if they have the meringue desert with the tiny strawberries that is also really good….I wouldn’t miss out on this restaurant! It’s very authentic..may be hard to get into but worth waiting….They take reservations so I’d suggest doing that.  Address: Via del porcellana, 25 r Telephone 055212691”
  • Garga–  a great restaurant on a side street not too far from the Arno and the chef is a character. Innovative cuisine and very good. Address: Via del Moro, 48/r
  • *Buca Lapi  Via del Trebbio, 1r, Florence, 50123 Italy
UNBELIEVABLE STEAK!!!! I’d suggest going here for dinner but having a glass of wine before at Cantinenta Antinori
  • Il Pizzaiuolo–“the best pizza place in the city hands down!” (street number 70). (Via de’ Macci 113/r, Firenze)
  • Ristorante Buca Mario–“a little pricey, but worth it”. In the heart of Florence, a few blocks west of Piazza della Repubblica. (Piazza degli Ottaviani, 16-red, Firenze)
  • Mr. Pizza–best take-away pizza place by far, and also near my apartment. Near the bar district (Santa Croce) and open until 4 or 5 am. (via Peitrapiana 82/r)
  • Teatro del Sale–dinner and show, runs you around 35 euro. Great opportunity to try a few native Florentine dishes (Via dei Macci, 111/r)

Turning 25 & Sharing 25 Things About Me

25 balloons white wall

Well. It finally happened. I turned 25 today. If you have talked to me recently, you know I have been a LITTLE stressed/anxious about turning 25. However, here I am. I did it and I haven’t turned into a pumpkin…yet. (I wrote this post on the night of my bday).

While turning 25 has been weird and I feel like I am actually turning about 76, I am thankful for the past year of my life. I have learned more this year about myself, about my friends, about what is important to me and about life in general than any other year yet.

Here is a list of 25 memories and things that have happened in my last year that have impacted my life some how. Some really deep and serious, others…not so much. Lol. Also, these are in NO particular order.

  1. Randomly (with no plans) booking a flight to Europe one Wednesday morning at work.
  2. Sharing a really small office at work with a few of my best friends. Literally 4 humans (plus Junie sometimes) in one office. We would laugh, we would bitch, we would support and we would help each other every single day. This was a good time.
  3. I bought and paid off a king size bed. THIS was my first adult purchase. And it is one of my favorite things I own. If you know me at all, you know I’m not joking.
  4. I wrecked my car. I ran into the back of someone on I-49 (the ACTUAL worst place in the world) one morning. Stop and go traffic is awful. Thankfully, the guy I hit was in a big truck, he was not injured and he was so kind and helpful. I only had a busted lip, but I was SO upset. That was my first real car wreck and it was not fun.
  5. I had a few really bad days at work. Days that changed a lot at work. Days where I had to grow the F up and help to get things done that weren’t always easy to do.
  6. I had GREAT days at work. Those days where you get everything done, you are recognized for working your ass off and you go home feeling accomplished and like you did something great.
  7. I had days where the only living thing I spoke to out loud was Junie…oops. Also, perfectly content with sharing my life with June. Sweet, adorable, loving, nonjudging cuddly girl.
  8. I broke my wrist. That was fun lol tbt.
  9. Living with someone I was dating in their house. Not our house.
  10. I ended a relationship when I had nowhere to live, no plans and a dog.
  11. Colorado with my friends! I hadn’t been skiing in like 6 or 7 years. When Holly asked us who was down for a trip with her family, I happily obliged and I am SO glad that I did. It was the perfect long weekend! And I realized how much I love skiing again. So any time any one wants to go, I’M IN!
  12. Moving all of my belongings all by myself….TWICE. Had to move from point A to point B (temporarily) then moved the majority of things home (because lived there over Christmas and NYE for about 2 weeks) then came back to fay (where I was again homeless for 2 nights and stayed with Hannah) THEN finally was able to move into my apartment. But had nothing to move in. Literally nothing. But I figured it all out and definitely grew up a lot. Didn’t help that this was in the middle of duck season and dad wouldn’t come and help me….🙄
  13. I bought a real couch, a coffee table, TVs, silverware and all the things that people need to live in a home haha. Also had to set up all the bills and things by myself. I have done this before but always with the help of roommates.
  14. That brings me to living alone. You guys, I am a HUGE scaredy cat. Like terrified of the dark, slept with my TV on all night for forever and now I still have a small light from my sound machine that I have to have on. And now I was going to be living completely alone. I will say that living in an apartment complex makes me feel safer. I thought I was going to be surrounded by loud college kids, but I’m not! The guys above me are great (one of them sings and plays piano all the time and I can hear it and it’s beautiful lol), there are families, young adults, etc. I also live on the first floor so it’s good with June. And if anything tried to get me, Junie would for sure bark…until the intruder was nice, then she’d be a horrible guard dog lol
  15. I was never a single dog owner until December. It’s a lot harder than you’d think. Work trips, personal trips, work in general, meetings, things that Junie can’t go to are hard when you don’t have another person to help out. Thankfully Sydney has been great when I need to leave June at home! Thanks, Syd. But this is also why I take her EVERY WHERE. And tbh, I could NOT live alone without her. She makes it way less lonely. Shout out to you, June.
  16. I met and hung out with Luke Bryan…for free haha. This is a good story if you haven’t heard it. Megan and I randomly bought tickets to Luke Bryan and Brett Eldridge (I am low key in love with Brett…nbd) in LR. Great seats for about $60. Meg saw these girls handing out wrist bands and we assumed they were backstage passes but didn’t know. I ran and asked if we could have two, they said yes. We ended up going to this after party full of people from the bands and sets and Luke Bryan. Literally met him, shook his hand and spoke to him. Very nice guy along with the entire crew and friends. Unfortunately, Brett had already gone to sleep that night. So we didn’t get to meet him but met his besties so that was cool.
  17. Learning to cook. I never cooked. Seriously lived off of frozen meals and easy mac. Now I buy fresh meat, fresh veggies and enjoy following recipes and cooking for myself. This was something I NEEDED to do before turning 25 lol.
  18. Traveling across the world to several new countries with Hannah who I had never even been in the car with for more than 3 hours. We just kind of hoped we would be good travel partners and we were literally the perfect match.
  19. Laughing until we cried and making the dumbest, most ridiculous jokes about nothing all the way through Europe. Eating every thing we could, taking advantage of every opportunity and killing the travel game all around. I wanted to go to Europe before turning 25, so thanks for coming along, HH.
  20. Learning that maybe a normal museum really isn’t for me (or Hannah). Don’t judge. I have my reasons and I’d be happy to share if you’re interested haha. However, the Vatican and Sistine Chapel was amazing.
  21. Being a better friend. Taking time to check on the people that matter to me. Ask about their lives, tell them about my life and really value people. Something I have found is very important to me is meaningful relationships.
  22. Being single for the longest time in YEARS. It has been great. I haven’t been happier. I am doing what I want to do and having a blast doing so. Highly recommended.
  23. Realizing that buying cheap clothes and shoes isn’t really worth it anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I will buy cheap trendy things, but I would much rather spend money on a basic tee that I will wear again and again. Or spend money on shoes that I can wear season after season. Same with jeans. You get what you pay for. If you wear jeans every day, why are you still buying $25 jeans? Buy some that make you feel confident and are the most comfortable denim you own. You WON’T regret it. I like to do the “price per wear” theory. If jeans cost me $150, but I wear them 150 times, that is only $1 per wear! Haha
  24. I actually really love this blog. It takes a lot of time and energy and it’s not always a top priority. But hearing from people that they like it, that they want to see more posts, it seriously means the world because this isn’t easy and takes time and money. So I will keep sharing, promise.
  25. I am happy. With who I am, what I’m doing, where I’m going and how I’m living my life. I am beyond happy. Glad to be happy and healthy, have friends and family that love and support me and get excited when I wake up in the morning. Life is good.

That is all, fam. Thanks for all your support and love. You all are the real MVPs.

In the photo, I am wearing a denim jumper from Fringe, my favorite Amuse Society tee from Riffraff and the classic Vans. Linked below are some similar options!
